External Waste Stack Replacement

A property manager contacted BOVI Access after a 30-metre external waste stack, located within an internal courtyard, had dropped approximately 300 mm due to inadequate support. The weight of the pipework caused it to slip downwards, damaging the branch connections serving sinks and showers.

Scope of work

  • Removal of the entire affected waste stack, from top to bottom.
  • Replacement of the full 30-metre run, rebuilt from the bottom upwards.
  • Renewal of all branch waste pipe connections serving sinks and showers.
  • Installation of new brackets along the replacement pipework.

Outcome

The full stack and associated connections were replaced. Work was completed over three days, with working hours agreed with the client to accommodate residents’ morning routines.

  • Installation of lightning protection tapes across all four elevations using rope access.
